Volunteer With Us

At Love, A Stranger, we believe healing happens in connection.
And sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do… is simply show up.

We’re building a community of people who care. People who are willing to listen, to sit with someone in the hard moments, and to remind them they’re not alone.

You don’t have to have all the answers.
You just have to be willing to be there.

Whether you’ve lived it, loved someone through it, or just feel called to this work — there’s a place for you here.

Volunteer Roles

Helpline Listener (Call & Text Support)
Be the person on the other end of the message. Offer one-on-one emotional support during scheduled shifts by answering calls or texts through our helpline. You’ll be trained in active listening, boundaries, and peer support: so you can show up with confidence and care.

Resource Navigator
Help someone take their next step. You’ll support callers in finding treatment options, support groups, and local resources, guiding them gently, without pressure, and always without judgment.

Letter Writing Team (Olive Branch Letters)
Send love without a return address. Write thoughtful, handwritten letters to individuals in treatment: simple reminders that someone out there is rooting for them.

Outreach & Advocacy
Help us reach the people who need us. From sharing our mission to building partnerships and growing our community, this role is about spreading the message that no one has to do this alone.
